IASTM stands for instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization. It is a skilled myofascial intervention used for soft-tissue treatment. IASTM is performed with instruments that are usually made of stainless steel with bevelLed edges and contours that can conform to different body anatomical locations and allows for deeper penetration. This allows us to release specific soft tissue restrictions and fascial restrictions in places that we cannot reach with our hands.
